The Sphynx is still considered rare to which the lineage is not as extensive as many other breeds. In order to develop healthy and hearty "new" bloodlines some breeders will outcross to broaden the gene pool.

F1 x Sphynx | F2 | Ratio should be 50% coated, 50% hairless |
F2 x Sphynx | F3 | All kittens should be hairless. Type can be lost when using an outcross. Using a coated outcross takes a step back genetically. |
F3 x Sphynx | F4 | These kittens are considered pure bred and can be shown in TICA/CFA as such. |
